Transcript: Week 6 Longshots

The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 6 long shots”

Cecil Lammey: There is going to be six teams on buy this week. Which means finding waiver wire gems is more crucial than ever.
Sigmund Bloom: That is why this week we are bringing you long shots that should be available in every league, and telling you whether they will build a help your team.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Male announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: The season is going up in smoke for the Denver Broncos whether it is Tom Nales torn bicep, he is out for the year. Or the impending suspension of Travis Henry, things are not looking good in Denver. Not everyone may go out and get Selvin Young thinking he is going to be the man. It is not the case I like to call him Inspector gadget because every time he has a big run, it is on a gadget play. The guy we like is Andre hall from South Florida. He is a little smaller but he is very explosive, has great vision, and is a great receiver out of the backfield. We think he will eventually emerge for Denver.
Sigmund Bloom: Brad Smith is turning into a real NFL wide receiver. Now if he could just get a quarterback with a real NFL arm. It is painfully obvious the defense is not honoring Chad Pennington, so it is time for Cullin Clemens. Now if Clemens gets in the speed, quickness, body control and hands of Smith will make him into that playmaking complement that Levernies Coles and Jericho Caudry need so badly. And it just might open some running lanes for Thomas Jones.
Cecil Lammey: Brody Croyle is just a little guy but he has a big arm. That will not make up for the inexperience and mental mistakes that this kid will make. Kind of like running back to throw the ball, having a fall out of your hand, ala Dave Craig, and then doing a little dance trying to pick the ball up. Brody is a live play, jump on the ball. Herman Edwards will not allow him to open it up very much, so look elsewhere if you need a quarterback.
Sigmund Bloom: The Seahawks have no choice this week but to see what Ben Obomanu can do in their lineup. So maybe you should see what he can do in your fantasy lineup. They were taking tons of shots to him deep and basically with DJ Hackett and Deon Branch out for at least two more weeks. He is the only playmaking wide receiver they have. So if you are desperate go for Obomanu.
Cecil Lammey: Jason Wright is looking like the back they need in Cleveland. Jamaal Lewis’ injury will open the door for him on Sunday. He has thick powerful legs, and he was running strong against the tough New England defense. Fighting off arm tackles, and getting every yard possible. Whether or not Lewis is healthy, we think Wright deserves more playing time.
Sigmund Bloom: There is a new chapter in the feel-good story of Kyle Eckel. This guy who lit it up in training camp in 2005, while being in active duty in the Navy is now getting the chance to be the Mike Alstot of New England, the best offense in the league. Now if Sammy Morris gets hurt he might get a chance to do even more.
Cecil Lammey: Cam Cameron knows Cleo Lemon. Back when they were with the Chargers, Lemon was behind Breeze and Rivers. Cameron kept him around as the active third quarterback, because he did not want another team to scoop him off the practice squad. Now Cleo is a gambler, but it will take some shots downfield. It is going to mean some interceptions, but it is also going to mean some deep passes. Well who benefits the most from this? Ted Ginn, he got three deep looks after Lemon came in the game. And with his improved route running he could break out soon with lemon looking his way.
Sigmund Bloom: Lamont Robinson is making an impact in the games; it is only a matter of time until he starts making impact in the box score. After he drew to pass interference penalties against Houston, last week he was wide open for the game time touchdown. Byron Leftwhich just missed him. He is going to be the number one wide receiver at Atlanta before long. And it might even happen before the end of the year.
Cecil Lammey: The rumors continue to swirl that Michael Bush could be activated for the Raiders. Now Dominic Rhodes is still there, but Bush is far more physically talented. He is a big back, but he is not Jerome Bettis. He has got great footwork like Bettis, but he has got great speed like a tailback. He could be the ultimate long shot if he gets a chance to start for the Raiders.
Sigmund Bloom: Devry Anderson's speed and quick’s in the open field are sizzling to Eddie have frying pans for hands. He has been demoted from the number two job so ignore that hundred yard day. It is not going to happen again. If you do need help from New Orleans wide receivers look at Lance Moore. This guy is getting kudos from the coaching staff and all he did in the preseason was make plays.
Cecil Lammey: Tony Scheffler and Jay Cutler have great chemistry dating back to last year when they were rookies coming up with the Broncos. Now Scheffler has what Graham does not, which is that deep speed over the middle. And anyone could be the next Dallas Clark, it is Tony Scheffler. You could also develop into an every week fantasy starter.
We have covered a lot of players today, if there was one guy on that list to go pick up who would it be?
Sigmund Bloom: Well Cecil you were as surprised as I was when Andre Hall went undrafted. This kid he has got the skills to be a top-notch NFL running back. So there is one guy on the waiver wire who might help you win your league outright, it is Andre Hall
Cecil Lammey: He is the man. Thanks for watching, The Five Minute Drill.
