Cecil Lammey: A lot of fantasy owners are facing their final chance to make the playoffs this week.
Sigmund Bloom: To help out we are focusing on the juiciest and ugly match ups in week 13.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill, you know the drill, you know the drill, you know the drill. Alright I’m ready
Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 Minute Drill quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Colby Smith proved that he can be a workhorse getting an amazing a 31 carries for the Chiefs. We like the kid but remember that this was against the Raiders; the team that made Ron Dayne looked like Barry Sanders. Now Smith should get it going in a couple weeks against the Broncos but this week against the Chargers it is a tough match up. We would sit him if you have other options like Fred Taylor vs. Indy or Earnest Graham vs. the Saints.
Sigmund Bloom: Things are looking up in the tale of two Adrian Peterson’s. Now Adrian Peterson the great should be back this week if he is active he has to be in your lineup, we already saw he can produce like a number one even in a committee. Adrian Peterson the OK is not looking quite as good only start him if you’re starting Cedric Benson the problem in Chicago might really be the play calling of Ron Turner.
Cecil Lammey: Kudos to the Eagles for finding a chink in the Pats armor, Bryan Billick is like yeah baby because he may have a blueprint to actually beat New England. This means that players like Mark Clayton, Derek Mason, and Cal Boller are better plays than usual and Devard Darling may put up Greg Lewis numbers if the Ravens also decide to attack New England’s nickel backs.
Sigmund Bloom: Speaking of wide receivers that could go straight from the waiver wire to your starting lineup we have got three more options for you. Justin Gage is now the number one for Vince Young, Sydney Rice is the number one for Tavares Jackson, and Brian Johnson got two possible game winning targets in crunch time and he faces the same Cleveland Browns secondary that gave up a big game to Devard Darling.
Cecil Lammey: We know we know it has been a rough year for the 49ers battering ram but Frank Gore proved against the Cardinals the he is healthy and still a force to be reckoned with. Carolina defenders look like they’re thinking more about their vacation than they are the rest of the regular season so Frank Gore should have another excellent day.
Sigmund Bloom: If you are stuck without a no brainer option at quarterback we love two of the inconsistent young guns that could square off in a match up playoff spot down the line. Vince Young will light up a Texas team that Kerry Collins had his way with when they met earlier this year and Matt Schaub should have his way with the Tennessee defense that is just a shell of what they were in September.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill about Godaddy .Com, they have.com names as low as $1.99, world class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the 5 Minute Drill can get 10% off any order, just entered drill3 when you check out and get your piece of the Internet at Godaddy.com.
It highly unlikely that the Panthers will go back to Steve Smith’s kryptonite also known as David Carr because he was benched., now Smith is healthy and has had several good games without Carr, so if you need to go Cal-Stanford against a strong opponent this week toss it back to Steve Smith.
Sigmund Bloom: Mike Mark should be elated because he actually should throw 50 times against the Vikings this week. This makes guys like John Kitna, Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams they’re all no brainer starts this week and even a guy like Sean Mcdonald who has dropped off is a great hail Mary against a team that should see 50 or 55 passing attempts.
Cecil Lammey: We know the Jets are capable of beating the Dolphins’ at least and they get another shot at them this Sunday now Thomas Jones had over 100 yards the last time he faced the fins in week three and could get triple again because the Miami front seven is it injury laden. Now Cullin Clemens favorite target is Jericho Cotchery and we expect that Clemens should have more time to find him than he did against the cowboys.
Sigmund Bloom: We already told you to vote yes to Gore now we’re saying vote no on Bush. Reggie Bush faces a Tampa Bay defense that has owned him in his short career, he is banged up and he is losing goal line opportunities to Aaron Stecker so if you have to make a 50/50 call make it against Reggie Bush.
Cecil Lammey: Tight ends have had several good games against the Ravens highlighted by Antonio Gates resurgence last week. Now Ben Watson is a match up nightmare when you know how the Pats like to use those so expect Biggidy Ben Watson to get a lot of looks Monday night.
Sigmund Bloom: Like you we have been writing the Dallas and Green Bay defenses all year but this might be the week to send them to your bench. Tony Romo and Brett Favre are sure to have a shootout on Thursday night. If you have to go to the waiver wire for a defense we like San Francisco and St. Louis, both face teams with serious quarterback problems.
Cecil Lammey: Thanks for watching the 5 Minute Drill we will see you next week.
