Episode “Patterns”

Scott Studenberg: Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, and Etro are just a few of fashions elite that are bombarding us with pattern on pattern this season. I am Scott Studenberg with Lust for Looks, and I am here with Lisa Schecter, designer and stylist, and we are going to show you how to play there game, whether you are a novice, intermediate, or seasoned pro.

Johan is wearing a Tylo button down shirt navy with white and blue stripes. What do you think?

Lisa Schecter: Every guy pretty much has a striped shirt in your closet as well as a geometric tie, and I think if you work with basic colors they all mix and match with each other.

Scott Studenberg: They all look great together because they are all neutral. Put on this Costume National chocolate brown blazer.

Lisa Schecter: Now this becomes a lot more ready for night.

Scott Studenberg: I mean he’s still keeping with the neutrals; he is just playing with the brown shoes and the belt. I love this look.

Lisa Schecter: I do to; it is a real easy one also.

Scott Studenberg: He is in Viasell chocolate brown boots. You have Ernest Cell jeans on, you have a Jcrew pinstripe button down, and that tie is gorgeous that’s Polo by Athlonic. If you can wear jeans to work, this is the look for you, and also the glasses from Cily Matif Notorius. Those I think just tie it all together.

Lisa Schecter: And also I think the nice part about the jeans is there is some nice texture to them in the wash, which also has a slight pattern to the whole look.

Scott Studenberg: This is what I call your seasoned pro look. Unless you’re very confident that you can, you’re not going to; you have to have confidence to wear something like this. We are doing pattern from head to toe, patterned jacket, tie, that’s from blessing. The tartan tie he is wearing with the plaid shirt matched with the Herringbone pants. And with the shoes there is a lot going on, Dolce and Gabana.

Lisa Schecter: You could take each piece, like if you took that shirt if your not as daring you could wear easily that shirt with the herringbone pants and that would be a great outfit alone without the tie and the without the jacket.

Scott Studenberg: He could do it with just the croc belt with the shoes.

Lisa Schecter: The smaller the pattern or the slight difference in color is the most important.
