Don’t get me wrong, Backpack’s not for everybody – it’s about as random as it comes – but it’s definitely a breath of fresh air in the sketch comedy landscape where lame writing and tired clichés flourish.

Sketchfest: Weekend 2 Round-Up
Time Out Chicago - 01.14.08
They came to town via Austin amidst huge buzz from the sketch community, so I was pumped to see what these boys could bring. If you were hanging around the fest later Friday night, you already know that I thought this show was phenomenal. At the risk of sounding like a Rolling Stone movie review, I’ll add that I laughed the entire time. Hard.
Speaking with: Mitch Baker
Chicago Sun-Times - 01.11.08
Take the absurdity of Monty Python and mix it with the wit and hilarity of Kids in the Hall and you've got yourself the makings of Backpack Picnic. The Austin, Texas-based sketch comedy troupe, best known for its top-rated Internet shorts on onnetworks.com, will perform as part of the Chicago Sketchfest.

Best episode yet!
Mitch looks like Ben Folds as the song starts. I never seen Shannon so Scruffy.
Useful, that. Best band ever.
Yeah! Rock on! I would like more music videos as well please. Also, Hey, Hey has been stuck in my head for days now so... thanks a lot guys.
These guys are great. I really enjoy their work. Keep the music videos coming.
brilliant!!
I can't stop watching! My favorite moments are the drummer during the song intro and the keyboardist during the bee swat. Catchy song as well. Way to capture so many cliches.
what the hell is on top of the keyboardist's head? is that a tat? anyways damn funny. oh...nice hair.
Damn fine. You really captured the look of those pop, faux-tough bands. And the song's damned funny as well. It makes me wish I still did college radio so I could play the shit out of it.
haha, awesome.
I love the girl who is continuously walking through hanging sheets. The Bee Swat dance is amazing!
Yeah! Give us more music videos! Very funny....
