Don’t get me wrong, Backpack’s not for everybody – it’s about as random as it comes – but it’s definitely a breath of fresh air in the sketch comedy landscape where lame writing and tired clichés flourish.

Sketchfest: Weekend 2 Round-Up
Time Out Chicago - 01.14.08
They came to town via Austin amidst huge buzz from the sketch community, so I was pumped to see what these boys could bring. If you were hanging around the fest later Friday night, you already know that I thought this show was phenomenal. At the risk of sounding like a Rolling Stone movie review, I’ll add that I laughed the entire time. Hard.

Take the absurdity of Monty Python and mix it with the wit and hilarity of Kids in the Hall and you've got yourself the makings of Backpack Picnic. The Austin, Texas-based sketch comedy troupe, best known for its top-rated Internet shorts on onnetworks.com, will perform as part of the Chicago Sketchfest.

nice!
Odd ... leaves you staring at the screen thinking, "What the hell?" But one of the funniest videos of them all. Backpack picnic is just one of them random, totally spur of the moment things. The way the music just stops when David gets hit in the face was halarious (not for everyone, but still bloody funny).
That cake looked nice ...
oh, it's like stella...but it doesn't have black, wayne or show
yeah exactly like stella, but it's not three guys living in an apartment, and they don't always wear suits, and there's more than three guys, and in some episodes they have jobs and in others they're interviewing for them, and it's not thirty minutes, and it's sketches not a 22 minute continuous plot linee, and it's not on comedy central, but otherwise, just like stella, yeah.
hmmm... yes.
yes, indeed.
my favorite Backpack Picnic yet.
the dog. in the background. yes, that one. how much did the animal trainer cost to get that shot?! ;)
Was that cake made with rage for all diseases?
Dear God in heaven wtf?
