I know that it is not directly related to games solely, but many of these marketing mistakes are very similar to Osborne Computer, who made the first portable computer (30 pounds) and his only competition was ComPac (which lasted). Osborne, after hiring 1,000 employees, producing a portable with a 4" green monitor built-in, announces a new version, the Osborne 2, with a 7" amber screen, at the "same price" while he still have 200,000 Osborne 1 units stacked in warehouses! Ie: the end of Osborne...The game companies have constantly made the same sort of mistakes. Osborne finally died after trying to come out with the Osborne Vixen, a small machine, only about 100 hand build units (I have three of them). What a bunch of mistakes all these people make. How about the Atari Linx? I have the hand-held video game console still...They made about eight game cards, then announced they were no longer going to support the Linx, nor produce any more games...After about 18 years, it still works, but real shame on Atari (who ever owned it then) for bailing out on the console so fast!
