The Five Minute Drill Episode “Fantasy Football College Bowl Preview” Cecil Lammey: If you’re still in the fantasy playoffs make sure to tune in your free podcast, the audible over at football guys.com where we break down all the week 15 match ups. Sigmund Bloom: But this week on the 5 minute drill we are bringing you a bowl season viewing guide, so you can check the next crop the fantasy stars over the holidays. Both: The drill. Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 Minute Drill quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom. Sigmund Bloom: Let year we learned that you should never miss a Boise State bowl game but if that is not enough for you to tune into the Hawaii bowl, you need to see East Carolina running back Chris Johnson besides his sub 4-3 speed he is a triple threat as a runner, as a returner, and a receiver. So he could be the next Devon Hester. Cecil Lammey: You usually don't think of UCF as a NFL Star factory but players like Dante Culpepper and Brandon Marshall have put that program on the map, there is another player from the university that you have to watch this bowl season, it is Kevin Smith and he has a chance to go berserker against the Mississippi State bulldogs. He's a powerful upright work horse who is only 180 yards away from breaking Barry Sanders seemingly untouchable single season rushing record, and he also break into the first round. Sigmund Bloom: Cal might be playing the Air Force in the Armed forces bowl but the real air show will be that Golden Bear wide receivers, Deshaun Jackson and Libel Hawkins, both have the deep speed and ball tracking skills to score on any given play and they're both great threats as kick returns. Meanwhile we love Justin Forsett the Cal quarterback whose size might make you think of J.J. Harrington but his toughness will make you think of Marshaun Lynch. Cecil Lammey: Your insight will serve you well if you tune in to watch Adarius Bowman, he is a huge target with outstanding hands and he is improving as a route runner he was only held back this year because of Oklahoma State’s poor quarterback play and that was not the only Cowboys offensive weapon. Like Justin Forsett Dantrell Savage is a little guy, but he had over 100 yards over every big 12 team that he faced. Now on the Indiana side there is James Hardy, a huge 6’7” wide receiver who will remind you of Harold Carmichael, he is a former college basketball player and working his way up to a possible first round pick. I will definitely be setting my alarm clock so I can see Erik Ainges final game as a collegiate football player. Now this guy has the arm, the frame, and the athleticism to be a NFL quarterback but he has been inconsistent for his whole career despite having David Cutlet to coach that mold into the Manning Brothers. You all be anxious to see if he can finally get us a win against a tough Wisconsin secondary. Cecil Lammey: You know the drill about Godaddy .Com, they have.com names as low as $1.99, world class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the 5 Minute Drill can get 10% off any order, just entered drill3 when you check out and get your piece of the Internet at Godaddy.com. John David Booty is a leader and a winner but we think he is more Chad Pennington than Carson Palmer. Now watch who protects Bootys backside, Sam Baker is a surefire first rounder who will improve the fantasy numbers of his teammates at the next level. On the Illinois side Rechard Mendehall coach is pleading with him to stay, which shows you how intent he is ongoing pro. He is not very shifty but he is a powerful north and south runner which reminds us of Ryan Grant. Sigmund Bloom: Michigan and Florida are NFL factories but if you tune into the Capital One Bowl you'll see why Chad Henney should not pass quality control, we do think Mike Hart can make it in the NFL his footwork, toughness, in balance all make him the perfect fit for the one cut running scheme but it remains to be seen if he is the latest Michigan running back that will be used up before he gets to the pros. Cecil Lammey: Jim Jones that even Heisman trophy winner Tim Tibo could not outrun the complex Hawaii offense. We will see how Colt Brennan fares against the type of tough SEC defense that Tibo has been dreading all year. Colt Brennan as anywhere from a first round to a third round grade and this game plus the NFL scouting combine will help decide where he falls in that spectrum. There are millions of dollars on the line for Brennan, talk about pressure. Sigmund Bloom: The Fiesta Bowl should be one of the most entertaining bowels of the entire season but it is partially due to guys like Steve Slaten and Pat White, the West Virginia running attack that can score on any play but Oklahoma has the guy who should be number one wide receiver of this class. Michael Kelly has the up's, the hands, the size, and the speed to be dominate to the next level so watch him closely because he just might be your team's first round pick. Cecil Lammey: This is not the show to debate which team deserves to be in the national championship, hell neither of these two teams deserve to be there but you have to watch because of LSU’s Erly Ducett he is personal and explosive and will be among one of the top receivers in this year's class. Also watch for future years because Healand Williams is a tough determine runner for the Bayou Bengals, and Chris Wells has enough power and speed to make me think that he is a poor man's Adrian Peterson. Next week it is our final episode of the season and we're going to do a 2008 fantasy football mock draft, the first pick goes to, call it Bloom. Sigmund Bloom: Heads, yes Ladanial peters…. Aw geez. Off camera: Alright one more. Sigmund Bloom: That one I should have said, alright I am going with David Peterson or Adrian Tomlinson. Cecil Lammey: Who the f**k is that?
